Publisher Synopsis
Like a good coach, Brent (The Caregiver's Companion, 2015) inspires action. At 61, she is a buff, beautiful bodybuilder who transformed her life by leaving a cheating spouse, going to the gym, controlling her spending, and eating healthy food. She wants to empower others to follow in her disciplined footsteps. In her how-to guide, each chapter focuses on a different area, such as exercising or developing a meal plan, and includes questions, such as, "Are you eating foods that are laced with preservatives, GMOs, and other harmful chemicals?" She offers a surprising amount of health advice for an MBA, though usually it's pretty basic. Skeptics may roll their eyes when she talks about "eating to blood type" or when she tells them they need to live in their "own divine light." But she also quotes the Chinese saying, "If you want happiness for a lifetime, help somebody." Brent's positive, inspiring messages about self-love, giving back, and rejoicing should resonate with many. * Booklist * Read more...
